GEL Pickleball - Thursday Night Social Sessions

Pickleball is a low-impact, high-enjoyment sport suitable for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, come along to our GEL Pickleball sessions and enjoy the social atmosphere and friendly competition.

Who can participate?

GEL Pickleball welcomes players of all ages and every skill level, whether you're new to the sport or a seasoned pro.

Games are played in doubles, and after each match, players switch partners to promote social connections and ensure a great experience for all.

Please note that each session has a maximum capacity of 24 participants. To secure your spot, bookings are essential and must be made online before attending.

How does GEL Pickleball work?

GEL Pickleball offers two 90-minute sessions: 

• Session 1: 6.30pm to 8pm 
• Session 2: 8.05pm to 9.35pm

Each session includes 6 pickleball courts and features 4 rounds of 15-minute doubles games. Players switch partners after each match and have one round on the bench.

Games are self-refereed, but a GEL Pickleball supervisor is available to organize teams and oversee play.

Where is it?

GEL Pickleball is played in GESAC Stadium on Courts 2 and 3.

GESAC (Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre) is located at 200 East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East, 3165.

When is it?

GEL Pickleball is played on Thursday nights from April to June.

What to bring

To play pickleball, all you need is a paddle and appropriate court shoes (runners). You can bring your own paddle or hire one from GESAC reception for $5 on the night.

Cost

GEL Pickleball is outside of usual service offerings. Therefore, the fees for this program are not included in any GEL membership. 

The price for all participants (members and non-members) is:

• $15 per person per session 
• Optional $5 paddle hire (You can BYO paddle)
